Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Well that's the Skype installer. Never really got it up.
I tend to leave things sitting on my desktop for no apparent reason
I just finished a bug report button on the tool window. It'll send your bug to the server. Also transmitted in the bug file is information regarding the status of CGF++, % packet transmission, basically a really good bug report feature.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
It uses up your bandwidth to keep open a TCP port right? How much per hour sort of thing?
Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
If you are talking about Skype, then probably. Skype needs to keep a port open for any and all inbound calls or data.
CGF++ sits there unless the user does something. If you sit on the main screen, it won't auto-refresh. The bug report feature just sends a single message to the server, containing your bug, once the button is clicked.
But the data stream between server and client is always idle unless data is requested, or unless you have the Virtual Plaza up and connected.
ALSO! I have finished the World Map (with pushpins, my all-time favorite simple machines). Here's a shot: (Also, the reason for the full screenshots instead of the window are because of the toolwindow)

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Lol, you live in 3 places...
Anyway looks good again. And no, i was talking about keeping a server running with no connections. How much Bandwidth per hour would that take up?

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Ah. Well I programmed the cgf++ serve to never use network resources when idle. But I can check that out when I'm at home, and not posting on my iPhone.
Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Cool, cause im helping a guy make a MMO and i want it to show how much Bandwidth is shown. Right now i have it doing 1 Byte per 2 seconds
Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Wow, 1byte/2 seconds is great! What I'd like to know is how you made it display bandwidth usage.
Also, I don't see a future for the list of users in the Plaza. (On the main page, that list that shows all the users currently in the Plaza)
Would it be bad if I got rid of it? I am convinced I can't fix it, after a few hours of working on it, since the Plaza is a seperate EXE. I am sitll trying, but I'm going to keep the list of Plaza users off of the main page.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Im sure that won't matter to much if the Plaza is a seperate EXE.
And i was estimating that. So i just have a system adding a byte every 2 sec. Also ontop of that i have the bytes received/sent added on.
I was hoping you'd know how much Bytes it takes to keep a TCP port open, and whether it takes any at all. I have it written so it only sends when it has user's online btw...

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Unless there is communication between server and client, there are no bytes that are needed/used to keep the connection open.
Once you've built a tunnel, it'll keep itself up til it's torn down (if the tunnel is built properly)
Also, I am in the process of updates. Right now, I am routing my laptop's internet through my iPhone, so I can't upload. (Our WiFi network is down).
I think AT&T is getting mad...

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Ok, that's good. Then that reduces bandwidth used
Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Correct.
If anyone has been on the cgf++ website you know that I have 0.0.1.4 up. Please don't dowload it, as there are some bugs I need to fix.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Alright everone! CGF++ Updates!!!
Please consult the CGF++ website for the new features:
http://www.lujosoftware.com/cgf++/download.html
PLEASE check it out! It's getting really impressive! (Oh, and check out the World Map. It is PURE AWESOMENESS!)
EDIT:
=================================
Alright. Please download and try CGF++, all bugs are fixed. You will notice: THERE IS A DELAY WHEN YOUR CLIENT GETS DATA!!! If you go on the main CGF++ page, it may say some things are UNDEFINED... You just have to wait a few seconds to receive all the data.
See you there!

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Very cool job as usual. Though you forgot to tell what the override IP is (pretty sure it's necessary.)
It's 68.94.198.172
Only real problems I have as of now is that the mouse cursor doesn't appear for the map & profile, and the Plaza is currently closed.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Yeah, the Plaza is disable for now, there is a purposeful data delay, and the cursor will be fixed next time.
The override IP is not necessary. In the override IP message, it says LEAVE BLANK IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND. So that means it'll work with or without the override.

Not for me. Whenever I don't type an override IP, it says,
"The program could not contact to the forum server! Please try again later, or contact us at www.lujosoftware.com"
For me, it only connects when I put it on. Anyone else have that problem, or is it just my computer?
Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
OH WAIT!
CRAAAAAAP.
I could kill myself right now. Alright, enter the override IP for now.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
This calls for a "LOL"
I would ask what you messed up on, but I doubt I'd understand
EDIT: Wow, you posted right before I did.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Alright, if you go to my mediafire, (below) I have made a video talking about how to use CGF++..
Next video will have my own voice, because using that text tool is a pain in the ass, if you'll pardon my language.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Hmm, takes me a full minute to download. CGF++ took me about 30 sec. :/
This could be useful, but the Overridw IP is left blank for obvious reasons.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Well the video is big.
Well, the override IP is there in case my website is down. In that case, it won't be able to get my server's IP address, then you'd just manually type it in.
What's happening, is it's overriding the IP it got from my server with whatever's in the box. If the box is empty, it tries to connect to ___.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Wow that video is big....
Please zip it next time or put it in a .rar file or something cause its massive.
You should make it simple for the user because some may get confused with the debug and override IP coming up. Just a thought.
Well I'm still impressed by the progress this has got so far.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Yeah, the override and stuff is only for debugging stuff.
In the next update, instead of saying, "Enter an Override IP" I'll just say "Please leave this blank unless told otherwise"
Yeah, I suppose I'll ZIP up the video with a high compression format.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
At least I was in the vid
Ya i suppose i got through the override with the override Ip.

Re: CGF++, the new Central Games Forum (EXE Format!)
Yeah, unfortunately, the override is required as of update 0.0.1.4, which will be fixed in the next update.
I am so glad I posted it up in YYG, because there are many things I wouldn't've found.
