Mario Paint - Through the Fire and Flames
My friend showed me this video. Mario Paint is music making program made for the SNES, I found this especially interesting and cool sounding with the changed sounds, but The Legend of Zelda Over Theme is also pretty sweet. The people who made these are talented (well, more talented than me anyways)
Re: Mario Paint - Through the Fire and Flames
That is very well done. You made that program? Very Nice.

Re: Mario Paint - Through the Fire and Flames
I wish I made that program, then I could say that the video existed because of me. That gives me a great idea! I (or anyone) should make a music making program with Game Maker. It would actually be kind of fun to use and make, unless someone has already made one. But then would also probably be hard to make too...

I don't Know It might be very easy if you know what to do. I will try that. That Might be cool.

Re: Mario Paint - Through the Fire and Flames
The concept for making it is quite simple.
I could do the graphics or programming for you.

Re: Mario Paint - Through the Fire and Flames
Thanks for offering, the programming is probably going to be the hardest part for me, since I haven't worked much with sounds and I don't know how to change the pitch in the game for each note individually (I have lite, mind you.)
I've been working on it quite a bit today, I already have 4 notes and a rest symbol, a bar that plays the sounds that can be started and stopped, and an easy way of creating notes and placing them. Though you can't overlap the notes (you could before, but that's because I made it unintentionally and it didn't work well) save the song, and the format looks ugly. There is also a problem deleting placed notes, but I'll fix it eventually.

^^ BTW, how are you going to play finished songs? I recommend learning the MIDI format, then you don't have to worry about recording various tones as well!
Re: Mario Paint - Through the Fire and Flames
As of now, I haven't thought much about saving, recording, and loading songs. Playing the songs is very simple in the program (just go to the beginning), but I'll look into the MIDI format since that's my only idea so far.
Re: Mario Paint - Through the Fire and Flames
I use FL Studio 8, so I could make sounds and save them as .MIDIs.

Yeah 'm a bit rusty, and damn, there's like no way I'll catch you in post count now....im_not_emo wrote:Nice AracnoX... A tad blunt but you made your point

Re: Mario Paint - Through the Fire and Flames
...Well... There is a way. But it requires A LOT of sucking up to one of the admins...

Sucking up isn't my thing.

Re: Mario Paint - Through the Fire and Flames
First off, it's RickRoll'd in Mario Paint format!
Second, I'm not going to use the same sounds for every note, I'm probably going to use different short sounds (buzz, beep, pops) for the sounds that have changeable pitches.
Third, I can't understand ANY of the MIDI format, someone (probably C-Nair for offering) is going to do the recording part if they know how to.

And I don't like suck-ups.
Also, I don't think Administrators can change the post count of a person.
